Volunteer Board Member for Calgary Chinese Community Service Association

Description of Charity/Foundation:
Established for over 39 years, the Calgary Chinese Community Service Association (CCCSA) is a non-profit, community-based organization located in the Chinatown area of Calgary, Alberta. The Calgary Chinese Community Service Association emerged from an idea – an ambitious idea to establish an organization that helps the immigrant community access mainstream services and integrate with society through education, facilitation and advocacy

The valuable services CCCSA offered touch the hearts of many, it helps families integrate into Canada, become empowered to become citizens leading dynamic and prosperous lives. In 2016, 374 volunteers contributed a total of 10,648 hours in different services; serving 9,204 individuals!

Description of Role:

In this volunteer position, you will be working with the Board, Executive director, and staff to:

  • Advance the organization’s mission: to connect immigrants to mainstream services.
  • Actively participate in monthly board meetings and committees.
  • Support fundraising and community engagement events.
  • Promote positive organizational change.

We meet on the third Monday of each month at 6PM at our offices, 1406 Centre Street N.E.
