Volunteer Board Member for Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation
Description of Charity/Foundation:
Established more than 15 years ago, The Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation’s (CSCF) mandate is education and awareness around the prevention and early detection of skin cancer. Our programs primarily target children and youth in grades 5/6.
CSCF has developed a Go Safe Sun Safety program that has educated 1000’s of children and youth over the last year 13 years in Sun Safety. With an increase in funding, CSCF has reached over 11 000 kids in 2019. In 2020, we hope to reach even more kids and communities across Alberta.
Description of Role:
Volunteer Board Member
Board meetings occur approx 6-8 times a year
· Meetings are usually 1.5 hours usually from 5:30 to 7:00 pm
• Ability to call into meetings if you are elsewhere in the province of Alberta
• or come in person to our downtown office space In Edmonton Alberta.
• Possibility of committee work outside of regular board meetings TBD
Certification/Education Required:
Experience:
Board – 2 years (preferred)
Nonprofit – 5 years (preferred)
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
