Volunteer Fundraising Chair on Board of Directors for Momo Multi Ability Movement Arts Society of Calgary

Description of Charity/Foundation:
Since 2003 Momo Movement has been designing inclusive, integrated, accessible and equitable dance, movement, and theatre opportunities for disabled people. In our classrooms and studios, Momo works with individual participants and performers to find their own movements and tell their own stories.

We offer weekly community classes in creative movement and other disciplines, like hip hop and line dancing at locations throughout Calgary.

Momo Movement’s performance ensemble has created and performed over 15 movement and theatrical productions. Our ensemble of mixed ability artists meets throughout the year to explore themes that are meaningful to them and create performance pieces of their own design. Momo’s ensemble is challenging who gets to make art, who gets to perform it and what it looks like.
