Volunteer Director for The Instrumental Society of Calgary

Description of Charity/Foundation:
The Instrumental Society of Calgary has been producing and staging very high quality classical chamber music concerts in Calgary for over 40 years. Each year we stage 8 separate concerts ( October through May) which feature Calgary’s best classical and contemporary musical artists,( many of whom are also performers with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra) , and with a wide variety of musical settings and compositions..

Description of Role:
We are looking for a Communications Director/Coordinator who is a tech savvy person, to assist in program writing and printing for our concerts, and in the creation of artistic season brochures for each concert season. Production of tickets for the concert season is also required. This person would interface closely with our Marketing personnel, our Artistic Director, the Box Office Director, and with the entire Board of Directors.

Certification or Education:
A responsible person who can work within a team, with experience with computer graphics and good visual sensitivity. Marketing background or experience is also an asset.
Applicable Interests:
Having a strong and demonstrated interest in serious music is a big help. We don’t require extensive musical accomplishments, but it helps if you like music a lot! And this role would entitle you to attend all of our concerts as an included perk.
